Challenge

Problem Statement

For people that have marginalized and intersectional identities, finding appropriate mental health care providers and resources can be challenging. Folks are deterred from seeking mental health care due to a lack of representation of providers from diverse backgrounds. Align was designed to connect users with intersectional identities to appropriate mental health providers and resources while building trust within safe, personalized environment.

Objectives

  1. Help users find health care providers that understand their lived experiences.
  2. Build trust and reduce stigma.
  3. Meet users where they are by creating an accessible experience.
  4. Center folks with marginalized and intersectional identities.

Deliverables

Our final deliverable was a fully functional prototype of the primary user flows in the Align app. We also delivered a final report, personas and scenarios, a competitive analysis, and a project slide.
